I have a baby!!!!

Leila Renee was born! She entered the world at 12:26 am on Wednesday, September 22nd. She was a tiny 6lbs 8 oz but 20 inches long...tall and skinny;) Leila is the most adorable little girl EVER (I may be a little biased!) Jeff and I are adjusting to doing things on her schedule and are loving it. Leila has met both sets of grandparents, one of her biological aunts, and many more local "aunts", "uncles", and great friends. This baby sure is LOVED:) Pictures to come...we have taken sooo many of her first week here.

If I hang them....

...she will come. The one and only movie quote I know is from "Field of Dreams", not because I am a huge fan of Kevin Costner, baseball, or fields in general, but for some reason the quote, "If you build it, they will come." stuck with me all these years. This led me to get a move on finishing and hanging the wooden name letters for her nursery.

Valerie and I started working on these letter quite some time ago by painting and then sanding the sides of each letter for a distressed vintage look. After at least a month of staring at them she came over last week for some more crafting. We choose the scrapbook paper we liked the best, traced each letter onto the back of the paper, and cut it out just a bit inside the pencil line. We used Mod Podge to adher the paper to the front of each letter and then coated the top of the paper with more Mod Podge for a finished look. Ta da...

Baby-Watch-2010

My quick 20 minute doctor's appointment turned into a four hour ordeal. My blood pressure was a little high, and being 39 weeks, preeclampsia was a concern. After being told I may be induced today we headed to the hospital for blood work, blood pressure monitoring, and fetal monitoring. Well, I walked out without a baby today AND although her birthday is right around the corner, I realized I'm not quite ready yet...Packing the hospital bag today just in case Friday's appointment takes a different turn. Wills did not get the win, but I did learn today that anything can happen!
