Jeff and I went to the Padres v. Dodgers game on Thursday afternoon. We bought tickets a few months ago, knowing this was game 3 of the series. The series was tied 1-1 going into Thursday's game...and the Padres pulled through for the win! We had great seats in the shade (even though it has been nothing but shady here at the beach lately). Good thing...otherwise my ice cream cone would have totally melted:) I did get a couple of "bless your heart", "stay hydrated", and "oh sorry, don't want to have to make the pregnant woman get up" comments. I milked it knowing I surely looked more uncomfortable than I was (padded seats at the baseball game = SWEET!)

32 weeks and my shirt is too small
55 days until my due date...but who's counting?!?! If I was a betting woman (oh wait..I am!) then I would bet that with the full moon coming on September 23rd, I will deliver on September 24th. I asked my doc about this old wives tale and she confirmed it by saying that it seemed in her experience that ladies go into labor before the full moon or otherwise miss it completely (weeks later they go into labor). Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Regardless of what Google searches may or may not confirm, I am still placing my bet on 9-24-10 in hopes that this baby girl will have the same birthday as her maternal grandma.

Seconds
I now eat seconds. Now I don't mean a second helping, I mean I eat two meals. Betsy has coined the term I have come to love..."second breakfast". I have added "second lunch" and "second dinner" to my vocabulary as well. I can no longer eat as much in one sitting so instead I just eat each meal twice! I just finished "second dinner" which was my favorite cereal, Kashi Heart to Heart Toasted Oats. I think I could eat it for first and seconds...it's that good!

Two more months
My official due date was two months from yesterday! We finished everything in the nursery for now. Aunt Joan made the valance and crib skirt and it looks great! We'll deal with the rest of the stuff next month:) We do have to add some wall art! Betsy said she's willing to help me decorate large wooden letters to spell baby girl's name. We also found some wall stickers to add on the crib wall. We don't have a nursery theme or specific colors, basically everything goes...
This is the view from the doorway (now just imagine that Jeff's bike is somewhere in the room).
Here's a shot taken from the window.

Baby Girl's room
Yesterday we got our NEW CARPET installed in Baby Girl's room. Yay! Finally some progress was made. Jeff moved all the furniture into the room by himself (what a man!) while I cleaned the walls, baseboards, and every thing else in my sight. After a late lunch Jeff went into the attic to get the hand-me-down baby items we got from Wendy's girls. I did some more cleaning and read a few of the new board books while Jeff assembled the crib. If I told you he got it right on the first try would you believe me? HOORAY! Finally we put down the rug (which is upside down in the picture so it will flatten out). Amy is coming over today to bring me the all the baby clothes she washed for us:) and we'll have a few bags of hand-me-downs from Val's boss to clean. I am soooo glad to be getting this stuff done early. My back is killing from yesterday's seven hour work day.
(Jeff just realized I was posted a pic of the un-finished nursery so again, I have to mention that this is a work in progress:) Not that he's ever read this blog anyways!)
Our rug is what inspired our color choices for the room...bright, bold, cheerful:

10 weeks to go!
Everyone says, "It goes by so fast. Enjoy it!". I have been enjoying it...I feel good, I get to eat ice cream, and I can practically wear pajamas in public! Life is good (I sound like my mom). But I was thinking the other day about how I got pregnant in 2009 and it is 2010 already! Ummmm that's a year folks;) (That's a long time, right? Think about all you've done this year.) Alright, so not really, but my 2010 has been all about this pregnancy and I am ready for it to be all about an "outside baby"! I cannot believe I only have 10 weeks to go.
Here's my 40 inch non-waist at 30 weeks pregnant:
Yes my belly still slants downward, kind of like a ski slope.

Happy 4th of July!
It is the official start of summer here in San Diego! The 4th of July has been my favorite holiday as long as I can remember. I always loved riding the train from DG to the Taste of Chicago on July 3rd, heading up to spend the weekend in Sheboygan at the O'Reilly's, and beach parties in Pacific Beach.
This year is the 2nd Annual Wet Spot 4th of July Bash is the place to be. I will chowing on sliders, homemade ice cream sandwiches, the best looking watermelon cake around, and chugging O'Douls...all while sporting my tankini and a skirt so I don't scare anyone:) Hoping my patience will last until fireworks time!

Nursery Progress
Last week was suppose to be the "BIG" week to begin the baby's room. FAIL! Well...the carpet cannot be cleaned for a reasonable price so we decided to shop around and get new carpet installed. Sounds a little crazy to install new carpet in our rented apartment but it STINKS down there. I got a headache just working on getting the old computer cleared out of there. No way is our little girl gonna sleep down there with out new carpet! We have our final estimate on Tuesday and hopefully the carpet can be installed by the following week. Jeff keeps saying how much time we have, and we do...80 days till September 21st...but I just don't think he has a grasp on how many things I want done that require his help:) So glad I am off work until September 1st (or January)!!
