Easter Bunny

Leila did not visit the Easter bunny this year.

She was the Easter bunny!

Another poop post

Leila has created a new slogan for a bumper sticker in honor of Earth Day:

Save a diaper, poop the bath.

What a wonderful way to "go green."

Thanks for the inspiration Leila!

Welcome to the world!

Today another BFF had her baby!

Krissy and Greg are now the proud parents of a baby BOY!!! Logan Daniel was born today at 8:13 am. An Earth Day birthday!

I imagine Logan as a tree-hugging hippie child wearing hemp necklaces and Krissy's old Phish T-shirts. I can smell the patchouli from here. :)

Congrats to the new parents!

Happy Earth Day!

Today, in honor of Earth Day, Jeff and I took Leila to her first National Park. Cabrillo National Monument is the only National Park in San Diego, so it was a logical choice to visit it during National Park Week.

(Yes, National Park Week! Free admission to select National Parks. Awesome, huh?)

Can you see the monument in the background?

What about the lighthouse?

The trail we took for only 100 yards before we decided neither of us wanted to push the stroller back up the hill. Moderately steep...not for us.

It was a beautiful day. We'll be back next year!

Weekends Rule!

I have started telling Leila that Saturday is "Mommy's day". I finally get a day off from work to spend with her.

At almost seven months old, Leila is an easy-going baby. She is so fun to be around. She is babbling up a storm and I have heard her say, "dadadada" on more than one occasion. Not that she has any idea what she is talking about (um, hello, the word is mamamama)...but I don't tell her that.

I look forward to Saturday all week long! I currently have fifteen Saturdays in a row (with one stinkin' Sunday tacked on to the end).

It's officially SPRING BREAK 2011!

During last year's spring break I was preggo, missing, wine, and thinking I was huge.

This year I am a mommy, drinking wine, and working on not feeling huge!

Cheers to Saturday!

Mmmmmm. Meat.

I am not embarrassed to say that Leila eats jarred meat. I ate Hormel Turkey Chili on my baked potato the other night.

But I am embarrassed to say that I wouldn't even try Leila's jarred Country Chicken Dinner.

Leila's pears, apples, carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes are delicious. I can see why they are so pricey.

But I am a chicken snob. I like very few meals that feature chicken and will NEVER order it in a restaurant (unless it is deep fried and dipped in ranch). Home cooked chicken (white meat) only, please.

Even after reading the few simple ingredients in the baby food...Nope, still can't do it.

Adios vegetarian Leila!

So yes, I expected my daughter to eat and like food that I won't even eat.

What's next...Leila eating onions?!?

Mmmmmmm?!?!

There might be more on her face than in her mouth.

I always feel like...

Somebody's watching me.

Jeff and I went on a walk yesterday and he brought the camera. He had fun, like little kid fun, running ahead of us , hiding like a creepy man, and snapping photos.

Faces of Leila

At six months most people would consider her a happy and easy going baby, just like her Daddy. She smiles at faces she recognizes and those she hasn't seen before.

Leila is starting to show us glimpses of her personality.

I love it when I can catch one of her many non-smiling faces on camera.
